What to expect

When you book a Design Day, I set aside the ENTIRE day to devote to your To-Do list. For the 7 hours you’ve booked in, your design needs receive my UNDIVIDED attention. We will be in communication during the day to make sure that everything flows smoothly.

Before the day, we will review your prioritised task list, which I will then use to guide my progress.

You will have 7 hours of my UNDIVIDED attention. During this time I will only be communicating with you and working on your website and design task(s). By the end of the day, you will be amazed with what has been accomplished.

Please note that you are purchasing a block of hours, not a completed deliverable. I will work as quickly and efficiently as I can, but there is no guarantee that we will be able to complete all your wish list items in one day.

Prioritising the items we focus on while being realistic in what can happen will make for a successful day. If you need to book another day or several hours to complete other tasks, then that is also an option.

  • Yes - Squarespace is the perfect option for most small business owners. It’s a proven powerhouse when it comes to ease-of-use, security, and SEO. With the platform being continuously monitored and improved, it requires NO manual updates (unlike Wordpress). Yearly costs are competitively low and the interface is gorgeous, providing a user experience that will catapult your business’s website to a professional level.

  • The website build process is designed to take 2 weeks. To help keep things on track, we'll establish an organized timeline prior to the project start date. Because I’m working with you one-on-one and prioritizing your project within my schedule, not adhering to the timeline may result in your website build being pushed back to the next available calendar slot.

  • Lots! Your input and feedback is crucial to the website design and development process. I’ll provide you with questionnaires and many opportunities to provide input. Remember this is your website and your direction is key to ensure it aligns with your vision.

  • You will provide all of the text content for your website. You are the expert on your business, so it’s always best if it comes from you. If you need some help, I can provide assistance with copywriting for an additional cost or you can hire a professional copywriter.

  • Yes! Before the site launch, we’ll have an instructional call where I’ll walk you through how to update your website. You will have full access to the backend of your new Squarespace website upon transferring ownership to your account. So, you will be able to make simple text updates, photo changes, and upload your own blog posts.

  • All content including text, images, and branding (logo files, etc.) needs to be provided the Thursday before your project start date. Once you’ve submitted the deposit payment, you’ll receive a content planning guide to help you get started with organizing your website content.

  • All websites include best-practice Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques. If you require additional, targeted, or ongoing SEO services I recommend getting in touch with an SEO expert for specialised help specific to your business goals.

  • No, you will be responsible for purchasing your own Squarespace plan. You may purchase or use an existing domain. One perk of working with me is that you will receive 20% off the first year of your new Squarespace plan!

  • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the project booking. The remaining 70% is paid in 2 installments, with the final payment due upon completion just before the launch of the website.

  • The branding/logo design process is designed to take 1 week. To help keep things on track, we'll establish an organized timeline prior to the project start date. I’ll need your detailed questionnaire submitted in advance. Because I’m working with you one-on-one and prioritizing your project within my schedule, not adhering to the timeline may result in your brand creation being pushed back to the next available calendar slot.

  • Your brand identity—including the logo—represents your business and instill an impression on potential clients. Your logo is on every website, card, handout, presentation, and package you’ll ever produce. Your logo speaks for itself, even when you’re not there to speak on behalf of your business. But it’s not just the logo—a brand identity is complete visual system that represents your brand. When this all comes together in a logical, cohesive, distinctive package, your business persona is recognizable on every level.

  • Lots! Your input is essential. After all, your brand is a reflection of YOU. I’ll provide you with questionnaires and we’ll also chat over video call. Remember a logo is meant to clearly communicate your values and vision, so your direction is key to ensure it aligns with what makes you stand out from the rest.

  • A branding project involves a lot of information gathering. We’ll discuss your business goals, history, audience, competitors, brand personality, and more. All of this will provide guidance that determines the design direction. Since you’re helping to set those parameters yourself, you can be confident your brand identity will be just right.

  • Compatibility is super important. Be sure to check out my Portfolio—does it have the general style you’re after? You need a designer whose work matches the aesthetic you’re aiming for. You might love how a designer presents their work, or maybe they have a great reputation or you genuinely like them as a person. But if their body of work itself doesn’t feel like you could imagine your project fitting in, you should probably find someone who feels like a better match.

  • Yes! All questionnaires I provide are due the week prior to your booked calendar days. That way, when we have our Consultation Call on the Monday your brand design begins, I’ll have had a chance to prepare. We’ll discuss your business in more detail. Your company’s background, goals, audience and competitors, what makes you special—these are all important considerations.

  • Yes! IF you’re an existing or past client, these are graphic design services I provide. So, whether it’s marketing materials designed for web or for print, I’m able to create those as an add-on service. we can chat about this during our Discovery Call. These add-ons will incur additional costs and will have to be booked in to my calendar.

  • A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the project booking. The remaining 70% is paid in 2 installments, with the final payment due upon completion just before the final deliverables are sent to you.
